#Yaucromatic: an amazing artistic initiative in Yauco 🇵🇷 The original Yaucromatic, in 2017, consisted of 16 murals spread across the public spaces of Yauco. The guiding principle of the project is that “Art is not only for museums, it is for the people”. That initiative brought an influx of tourists to the area, which contributed to the creation of new businesses, rehabilitation of existing businesses, and represented an economic injection to the municipality. At the same time, public and private spaces that had been abandoned in the past have been rescued. In September 2017 Hurricane Maria devastated the island, and the need to help revitalize the town was more important than ever. Due to the response to the original Yaucromatic, the artists of nonprofit Arte Para Unir (Art to Unite) @arteparaunir decided to continue the project. One of the latest additions, is the incredible outfit put on this #Ceiba. I know a lot of people who think my lifestyle is a bit “crazy” “wild” etc and to some extent, I agree. But, at some point in this life, I decided to SAY YES to life 🙌🏽 I know a lot of people who would never do something alone or don’t go to activities/places they want to try because they have no one to do it with. This xmas eve, I was with my aunts. They have different interests and were not interested in visiting the waterfalls nearby with me. And that IS OKAY. Did that stop me from going? No Did I get upset that they have different interests? No Instead, I went anyway and had an AMAZING day. I saw 3 different waterfalls, got to know Orocovis, met Francis de los Cuatros and had a super cute photoshoot. He shared his holiday treats with me and even played some music for me. Then I continued on my way and met some hikers at the last waterfall. And ended the day with my aunts at their family party 🎄🎅✨💃🏻 The best days of my life are the ones where I put my phone on airplane mode and get lost in nature by myself. Just me, nature, and whatever I want to do!
